For Teachers

lgreenhiquality

We started the new school year last week, a special time for all teachers. After the long break the boys at my school (here) always seem so happy to be back – I love their smiles, their excitement, their new hair cuts and their squeaky shoes! I saw a Teachers’ Prayer on Scrap Dolly’s blog and it reminded me of this poem which I used to have displayed in my office. I must put it on my notice board again.

One Hundred Years from now
(excerpt from "Within My Power" by Forest Witcraft)

One hundred years from now
It will not matter
what kind of car I drove,
what kind of house I lived in,
how much money was in my bank account
nor what my clothes looked like.
But the world may be a better place because
I was important in the life of a child.
