UKS challenge May week 4

and liddle lamzey diveyHere’s my layout for this week’s challenge at UK Scrappers. It was set by The Allsorts who asked us to

use the sketch check
use pink and/or blue
check
use punches and/or stamps check

So I’m claiming 30 points for my team The Bijoux Belles.

… and liddle lamzy divey

I haven’t felt much like scrapping lately but I really enjoyed doing this – the sketch is great. Ohand liddle lamzey divey detail and I added more flowers than I meant to as I needed to cover some spots where I managed to cut my finger chopping off the button shanks. Ouch! Talking of buttons … how sweet are these? I got them from John Lewis a trifle pricey but irresistible!

Thanks for visiting.

Happy birthday, Sophia!

Just for you ...

WOYWW 208

I’m scheduling this post as I missed last week’s WOYWW not realising it was Wednesday! Having had another bank holiday I will go all week not knowing what day it is senior incidents seem to be lasting more than a moment these days!

Anyway 29th May is Sophia’s 6th birthday and inspired by the lovely Jen’s never-ending card here I set about making one. It was surprisingly easy to do and Sophia was mesmerised by its clever workings. Thanks Jen. :o)

The other thing fighting for space on my desk is the quilt I am making also for Sophia. I am so enjoying this new hobby and am already addicted to hoarding lovely fabrics!

I’m off to snoop round some workdesks at Julia’s … hope to see you there.

My card tally to date = 25!
Sue So here we are at the end of May and it’s still as cold as Christmas. Well, I know that’s a bit of an exaggeration but, with the weather we’ve been having, it doesn’t seem out of place to be making festive cards. So, if you started in January you will now have up to 25 cards stashed away for December … woo hoo! If you haven’t joined us before now it’s not too late to start Beating the Christmas Rush :o) Our aim is to make up to five cards each month so that we can be very smug come December. Just link me to your blog post and I’ll pop over and leave you a nice comment. Heather

Each month I like to feature my favourite card from last month's linkies and I just had to choose this one by Heather; I love silhouettes and Heather has inspired my card for next month!

Here are some fab cards made by lovely crafty friends, Sarah, Susi and Jen. Please do visit their blogs for some Christmas inspiration!

The small print : please link back to my blog in your post, mentioning Beat the Christmas Rush. You can make up to 5 separate links each month :o).

If you’ve hopped here from Donna’s blog, Yorkshire Tea Jenny, you are in the right place :o). If you came straight here that’s fine, too, just pop to the start on Suzy’s blog, Sea, Glass and Sand where she is celebrating her blog makeover. There are prizes to be won on your way around the blog hop and on here, too. My page is made from the May Littlegreen kit. I’d like you use my sketch as your starter and when you’ve done your layout (or card)  leave me a comment with a link to your blog post. One lucky commenter will win the May kit.

Your next hop is on to Jen’s blog, Scrappy Jen.

Happy hopping,

Sue x
PS Please link your sketch entries by June 20th. :o)

WOYWW 206

Hello from sunny Cornwall again. And it really is sunny here though the forecast shows the weather deteriorating as the week goes on. Hey ho.

Anyway, no desk to show you this week as we’ve only just arrived and my scrapping and sewing bags are yet to be unpacked so, I thought you might like to see why we keep getting drawn back to this beautiful part of England. This is the view from our hotel window! Jealous eh?

If you want to see what our fellow crafters really do have on their desks then pop over to Julia’s blog to join in the party.

UKS May week 1 Challenge

just too cute

Here’s my page for this week’s challenge at UK Scrappers set by The Scrap Happy team. We were challenged to use the sketch and scrap a masculine page with flowers and an inking technique. I coloured the wood veneer stars with SU Pumpkin Pie ink spot though I’m not sure if that counts as an inking technique. I’ve used the May kit from Creative Craft World.

Octopode birthday card

Just a quick post to share with you the card I made for our used to be a Goth niece whose birthday it is tomorrow. I don’t think she reads my blog. If I show you the book she has written you’ll understand the theme of the card!

I used two Lily Chivers digi images from The Octopode Factory.

WOYWW 205

Wednesday again and you’re here wanting a snoop at my desk, I guess? Well, the reason I’m late in checking in again is because I hot footed over to Home Sense in Chichester as I heard a rumour there were stash bargains to be had unfortunately I made the mistake of going with Michael and am still mourning over what I left behind there. Anyway, amongst the debris that is fondly known as my tip desk are the three things I did manage to get away with without the ‘You’ve already got one of those’ comment an American Crafts 12x12 D-ring album for £7, a pack of AC primary colour 12x12 cardstock for £9.99 and a DCWV Collage Musings stack for £7.99.

08.05.13Good eh?

OK I’m off to sign in at Julia’s and while I’m there I’ll visit some workdesks.

WOYWW 204

Good morning and happy Wednesday from sunny Cornwall! We’re here for a week’s holiday, and unusually, I only have a little scrapping with me as I’m busy doing the hand quilting bit of Leo’s quilt … so that’s what I have to show you today.patchwork

I am rather proud of it as it’s my first ever quilt! Marilyn and I have been to classes at The Eternal Maker in Chichester and I think we are pretty much hooked :o) Just one more class and the binding to do and it’s finished.

I was quite amused at the class that all the other ladies had chosen pretty autumnal chintzy fabrics … mine did stand out a little LOL.

OK I’m off to Julia’s blog to join in the linky party. Hope to see you there.
