WOYWW 189

Hello on this bright and frosty morning – just how I like the winter to be even though the sun is showing up my grubby windows!

So it’s Wednesday and time to reveal my workdesk to the world. I have two photos for you … the first to show off my sparkling new sewing machine got for me by my lovely mum at Lidl for a bargain £69.99. Beside it you can just see my first attempt at machining as I have finished Sophia’s cushion ready to post to her. Thank you for all your good wishes last week for her spottiness – she is well and back at school.

16.01.1316.01.13 2The second photo is my desk as it was before the sewing machine took root. I pinned a tutorial for making these cute little baskets and had a go at making one – easy to do and a good use of my 6x6 scraps box. I will make them for Easter and fill with little eggs. You can also see my ATG gun waiting to be sorted with the pot of Vaseline hovering behind it. THE ATG gun squeaks like a cage of budgies which is fine for home use but a bit too attention seeking at crops. LOL If anyone knows where the tutorial is please leave me a link – I can’t find it now!

OK, time to do some desk hopping at Julia’s What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday. See you there.

Sue x

ETA after much searching of Google I have found the squeaky ATG remedy … here.

Glad to hear DD is better. Lucky you with a new sewing machine. I have promised myself a new one when I have a bigger craft room as I have no room to keep it out and know it will just sit under the desk unless it is primed and ready to go. Not that I can sew mind you!! That little basket tut is adorable - that is going in the mix for one of my easter kids classes - looks real easy and sooo professional! Thanks for the link. Cindy #74

Well, that’s a beast of a machine Sue and what a bargain! Mine only comes out on high days and holidays and then I have to sweep 4 ins. of dust off of it before I can attempt anything……just as well I’m not into machining big time, isn’t it!
As for you squeaky tape gun, WD40, I use it on everything.
Thanks for dropping by this week.

Happy Crafting!

congratulations on the new sewing machine it is awesome! Love the basket and look forward to seeing them filled with candies. Funny thing! My Stormy cat jumped up on the desk while on your site and saw the hamster and we spent a good 10 minutes playing before I left a comment...I love it when she gets so engrossed in something on the screen I can't move on! Thanks for popping by my desk and leaving a comment! It means a lot to me! Have a great week. Vickie #43

There are lots of tutorials on Youtube for ATGs so you should be able to sort it. I squirt any squeak with the wondrous WD40... never fails to cure everything but my creaking knees.
I love the card basket you made.. .do you have a pattern for it? I'd love to make it for Easter.

Love the little basket. I went and pinned the tutorial for Easter. Squeaky ATG?? Hmm. I may have to go use mine. Mine either doesn't squeak or I am not very observant. LOL

Sorry I am 2 days late getting to your blog. I have been battling a nasty flu bug.

Thank you for all the great links, Sue! That little basket is so stinkin' cute!! BTW, can't remember if I asked b/4: do you know where your happy face mug can be bought? Little twink Henry is going through a phase where he LOVES anything with a happy face. I think it's so cute, better than loving frownie faces!! My email is on my profile page if you know. Thanks!

Thank you, too, for coming by the Playhouse and leaving your sweet anniversary wishes! I'm sorry I'm so late getting around WOYWW. I took some time off to celebrate with Mister and am still going through all our wonderful greetings.

Have a super weekend! Have a blast with the new shiny sewing machine!! Hugs, Darnell #64
