WOYWW 188

Good morning and welcome to my workdesk. The paper crafting has been pushed to one side for a while to make way for some sewing I have been doing. I am making monogrammed cushion covers.

09.01.13I’ve made three as family gifts and this one is for Sophia who is covered in chicken pox spots at the moment and totally fed up at not being able to go back to school. Bless her. I’m thinking of selling the cushion covers as kits on Etsy. What do you think?

Please pop over to What’s on your Workdesk Wednesday and have a peak at some more workdesks – it’s great fun!

Wow! I made button hearts a couple of years ago and that did my fingers in, or do you glue them on?
I've also made cards with button hearts or Christmas trees on.
They certainly would sell but I doubt you'd make much profit as buttons can be so expensive to buy, also you can never charge enough to cover your time. However, if you sold them as a kit then the person buying it would be spending their time!
Good luck

Love that pillow - I have SO MANY buttons LOL! If I could make the whole background from ribbons I might make a dent! LOVE that layout too, very cool. Must mentally file it away for the next crop.

Great cushion. Good luck with Etsy - daughter M hasn't been very successful - I guess you need to promote your wares more than she does. x Jo #49

love your use of buttons. A kit sounds like a good idea but won't they be very expensive with all those buttons. Have you seen the new pack from Design objectives... a big bag in pretty pastel colours 100's in a bag for £2,99
good luck

What a great idea to do a monogram. I have all these buttons that I inherited from my wife's grandmother, but I don't think I'd have the patience to sew that many. Blessings!
