WOYWW 221

28.08.13Good morning and welcome to my workdesk. I have been busy this week with a couple of things. The first I have to show you is the button cushion I am making for my sisters step-grandson Hayden. He has wanted one ever since he saw Sophia’s birthday cushion.

If you look carefully, in the box at the back you can see the little gingerbread men left over from my BtCR cards this month if you’re making Christmas cards please come and join my Beat the Christmas Rush linky :o) 28.08.13 2

For the second thing on my workdesk, I owe a thank you to WOYWWer Lunch Lady Jan. Jan posted last week about some crochet flowers she has been trying out and left a link to the pattern and a fab place selling yarn and all sorts of lovely goodies … I haven’t crocheted in years but Jan’s post tempted me to dust off a hook and have a go. I got my sister Marilyn to show me what the pattern meant and I can proudly show you my first attempts just don’t look too closely!

So, that’s what I’m up to this Wednesday. I’m off to Julia’s to visit some more workdesks. See you there?

UKS Challenge August week 3

WOYWWers yesterday will have seen the planning stage of my page for the UK Scrappers challenge set this week by The Chatty Scrappers. They asked us to use only paper scraps, the sketch and a holiday theme. I’ve played around a little with the sketch, making the central photograph into four and flipping the whole thing around to better suit a portrait photo.

I took these cute photos of Beth a few weeks ago when mum rented a Beach Hut at Stokes Bay, Gosport, for a family break.

WOYWW 220

Well time has certainly flown … it appears this is my first visit to What’s on Your Workdesk Wednesday this month. I’m not sure why I’ve missed a few but Wednesday does tend to creep up and take me by surprise. Anyway this week I’m ready for it and look at me Mrs Organised! I have the stuff out all ready for scrapping today. I’m planning to do the UKS weekly challenge and will pop back later with the finished page.

21.08.13To the right you can see some of the spoils of my shopping spree in the new Whiteley centre. I got an amazing bargain of Sharpies in Smith’s, 24 for £6.99 with the purchase of any pencil case. You might also spot a couple of white pens; I only buy the broad Signo ones which Paperchase kindly has on offer.

Enough of my desk – pop over to Julia’s and take a mosey around a few more.

ETA Before you go … please take a little look at my sketch challenge below.

I’m liking the chalkboard trend at the moment and I think you’ll see it crop up in a few of my pages in the next few weeks. And yes, these grapes grow in our garden. There’s a bumper harvest this year.

Christine I was really pleased that nine lovely people entered my challenge last month thank you I do appreciate you taking the time to try my sketches and it was tough to choose just one for my kit prize … anyway the winner is this super page by Christine. I just love its clean simplicity, a classy look I find very hard to attain.

Christine – please have a look at the kits on the page tab above and choose one for your prize then email me your address on sue at suehr dot fsnet dot co dot uk.

UKS challenge August wk 2

Here is my page for AnniB’s challenge to use die cut shapes, white space, at lefirst wheelsast two patterned papers and some stitching. I hope I’ve left enough white space that’s a lot of unadorned card for me!

Beth just loved trying to ride the scooters of the bigger girls so I bought her a Beth-sized one :o).
