And the winner is …

My favourite comment for my Gingerbread House tutorial was this one from hannahk …

open quotes  This is adorable. I was watching the British Sewing Bee Christmas special where they made a mini dolls house and thought of a gingerbread house idea for next year's gift  making list. Yours tops it and I'm adding it tclose quoteso my inspiration.

So Hannah, please PM me MiniOwner your address through UKS and I’ll post your kit.

UKS Blog Hop

photoHello and welcome to today’s UKS blog hop project. I saw a similar felt gingerbread house on Pinterest but it was flatish – I loved it but wanted a 3-D version that will stand on my mantelpiece or maybe hang on the tree.

Click on the page tab at the top of my blog for the instructions.

As an added bonus to the blog hop prizes offered on UKS,  I’ll be choosing one of your comments to receive a kit of all you need to make my project.

Happy Christmas!

Today is my lovely mum’s 82nd birthday. Here is the card I made for her.

I used to spend hours playing with mum’s button jar when I was a little girl; I guess that’s why they are my favourite embellishment.

Holidays are coming …

We spent a lovely day crafting on Tuesday. While Marilyn and I cut squares for some last minute Christmas quilting, mum made this lovely rag wreath for her door. So effective and a great way to use up fabric scraps.

Time for blogging at last!

I’m so sorry, dear Blog, to have neglected you for so long. A nasty bout of shingles, the CCW retreat and mum being poorly have meant I have done little scrapping and no quilting. :o( Anyway, I am back in Blogland and have a couple of pages to share which are both UKS challenges and both were done at the retreat last weekend.

today you are youThe first is the House Challenge set by Alison who it so happens I was sitting next to at the retreat. Alison gave us a selection of Dr Seuss quotations to choose from – I just love this one.

And the second is for the Weekly Challenge set by AllyJ50 who asked us to use

ink or pink/blue
five lines of journalling handwritten/typed on the layout or as labels/tags/note cards
three plus photographs in a cluster/collage
and to start the title with A DAY AT or IN

This page was made in a super class by Niki.
