Christmas is Coming!

adventhiuse2507x600

I thought I’d try to get in a Christmassy mood by having a look at last years ‘creations’. I think the best thing I did was probably this Advent House which I bought from Tesco and altered. I hope they have them in again this year!

Oh and talking of Christmas … big things are happening at Creative Craft World … pop back here on Monday!!

Craft Obsessions Crop

 the graduate

On Saturday, Tamsyn and I went to the Craft Obsessions crop at St Leonards, near Bournemouth. I intended to do three pages but only managed these two. The first is of my youngest niece, Rosie, at her graduation party and the other features a photo of Sophia giving a ‘thumbs up’ for her new dress and leggings.

Hot Choccy, Marshmallows and Cream.
Oona would like you to use these three colours on your project. Our generous sponsors this week are Bugaboo and Stitchy Stamps. You can win 12 digi stamps of your choice, 7 from Bugaboo and 5 from Stitchy. bugaboostamps

A Trip to the Big Smoke

This weekend mum, Marilyn and I went to stay in London for a couple of days. We went to the Victoria and Albert Museum where there is a fascinating exhibition about Diaghilev and the Golden Age of the Ballet Russes.

P1000908_edited The highlight of our trip was a fabulous Cliff concert at the Royal Albert Hall! He is just amazing … and 70 years old to boot!

Pumpkin Cottage

cottage

I’m always sorry when summer is over then we get a day like today and I remember why I love the autumn. The sun is shining, there are wispy clouds in the sky, golden leaves drift gently to the ground and we have hot buttered crumpets for tea.

It seemed a fitting day to visit Pumpkin Cottage, in Slindon, and we weren’t disappointed by the fabulous display of pumpkins of all shapes, sizes and colours.

I’m off to make some Pumpkin Soup with Jamie Oliver.

PS The soup was just delish!

Rosie’s Graduation

View Rosie

My youngest niece and god-daughter, Rosie, graduated this year from Plymouth University. Today we were invited to a party for family and friends to celebrate her success. It was a lovely sunny afternoon and a good opportunity to catch up with people, some of whom we hadn’t seen for years. P1000867_edited

My sister-in-law, Mary, is a super cook and she laid on a lovely buffet which included these yummy cup cakes and a celebration cake. P1000866_edited

And … erm … I think Emily enjoyed the chocolate fountain!

Littlegreen Crop Circle October 2010

We had a great crop yesterday … at least I hope everyone enjoyed it as much as I did. It was lovely to welcome new members, Linda, Sara, Jo and Peta and thanks to Jan and Katie for all their help as always.

I only completed one page :o( but I was dead chuffed when it was chosen as the favourite for the crop challenge … thank you! I used a lovely (and very reasonably priced) kit by MamBI which I bought from Katie at Cre8tive Online. I aged 3realised when I was uploading the page just now that Sophia is still two years old in the photo as there is snow on the trees in the background. She wasn’t three until May! I’ll try to remember to alter the title.

Jackie won’t be pleased with me if I don’t mention that she was very productive at this crop and achieved a lot. If she sends me some photos I’ll upload them here … what she made was gorgeous. One of her clever creations came second in the Crop Challenge.

I’m really looking forward to the next LGCC on December 4th when we’ll be having a bit of Christmas fun.

CCW Black, White & Silver Challenge

Lou has set the latest challenge at Creative Craft World and she says we can only use black, white and silver for our projects! You can include a colour photo, though, if you wish.

I took the photo on my page from a taxi window in New York as we were crossing the Brooklyn Bridge on our way to the airport. I love the fact that the only colour is the in the yellow taxis, making it a perfect picture for this project.

We have two generous sponsors for this challenge - Crafty Pad and Little Claire's.

Please read the rules on the Creative Craft World blog very carefully – they are important to your chances of winning!brooklyn

Good luck,

A Week in Wales

View Wales - Cottage

We have just returned from a relaxing break staying in this lovely little cottage not far from Carmarthen. At the bottom of the garden there was a pretty river which became quite fast and noisy after the heavy rains on Thursday night. Our only visitors, apart from the man to read the meter, were three hens, a cockerel, a turkey, a donkey, two sheep and stacks of little garden birds.

We did lots of touristy things like visiting Pembroke Castle, Dylan Thomas’ home, The Boathouse, Pemberton's Chocolate Farm (yummy!) and the beautiful falls at Aberdulais.

View Wales - places visited

I will, of course, be using some of the 100 or so photos I took on a few scrapbook pages so please pop back and have a look.
