The Boat House, Laugharne

While on holiday in Wales last year we went to Laugharne (pronounced larn) to visit Dylan Thomas’ home, The Boat House. It is a fascinating and very picturesque place and you get a real sense of history there – it’s not difficult to imagine the man himself, sitting down to write Under Milk Wood (I've used an exerpt from the script as the background on my scrapbook page).

Riley’s progress

I thought you might like a little update on how Riley is coming along. He has settled well in his new home and is already flying around the kitchen – he can’t find his way back to his cage yet and Michael is getting plenty of exercise trying to catch him! As you can see from the photos he is happily perching on Michael’s hand for titbits. He responds to his name and hops up and down in front of the door of his cage to come out when we call him.

Our new budgie …

After much searching we finally found our new budgie today at The Riverside Aviaries in Titchfield – an impressive place. His name is Riley and he is just 6 weeks old. He has settled really quickly in his new home and is chirping merrily from the top perch in his cage. It’s lovely to have the sound of a little bird in the house again. I have taken some photos but they aren’t brilliant as the camera focuses on the bars. When he is flying out and about I’ll take some better ones.

UKS weekly challenge Feb week 1

Here’s my page and some details of the LO I did for last week’s challenge on UKS. We had to use the name of a season in the title, include a splash of yellow, make some scrunched flowers and use squares and a bit of bling. I have managed all the elements.

The photo was taken in the garden at Olney on our retreat last week – Jen’s photos are amazing!
